Dogs are often referred to as “man's best friend.” But, they are usually so much more than just friends to dog owners—many owners feel that their dogs are like members of the family. They also have a much longer range than standard shock collars; most hunting collars have a range of at least a half mile. Other electronic dog training collars are generally not as durable or as long-ranged as hunting dog training collars.
Of course, these added features do come at a price—hunting dog training collars are more expensive than regular dog training shock collars. They start at around $100 for the simplest models, and the prices can go up to several hundred dollars for the multi-dog models.
Pet supply stores online and offline do carry some hunting dog training collars. However, dog owners may find a better selection by browsing online or offline hunting stores. Many of these stores have a wide variety of hunting collars for sale.
These collars can be used for medium or large breed dogs, not smaller breeds. This is because they have been specifically designed for hunting dogs, like retrievers, setters, and pointers, for example. The shock settings would be too strong for small breeds of dogs.
By using hunting dog training collars, hunters can enjoy the thrill of the hunt with their “best friends,” without worrying about them misbehaving. These collars are a true help to many hunters.
